Urban Belly

Last Friday, I was set on going to this Vietnamese restaurant called Sawtooth on Randolph Street. The Yelp reviewers recommended a spicy dish called “Seafood in a Clay Pot,”  with calamari, scallops, and shrimp.

CJ and I got there around 7:30pm only to find out the restaurant had “switched management” and was no longer a Vietnamese restaurant, but a lounge serving Buffalo wings. I was starving and very disappointed 😦

Instead, we walked a few more blocks and went to Urban Belly, for “reimagined noodles, dumplings, and rice.” We had gone next door to Belly Q for my birthday, where I had gotten Wagyu Short Ribs, and they were delicious.

CJ had the Chicken Katsu with Sliced Rice Cakes, Mango, Cilantro & Korean Chili Broth

I had Mushroom Pho – Rice Noodles with Tofu, Mushrooms, Bean Sprouts, Jalapeño & Thai Basil.

We shared Wagyu Beef Dumplings – Beef Wontons with Cheddar, Romaine, Tomato & Horseradish

My favorite were the dumplings for sure.

Apparently, a new ramen restaurant opened a few blocks from where I live! Can’t wait to try it out when Joyce comes to visit from Miami!

Do you like ramen/pho?
